I guess I've gotten accustomed to using Linux all these years and not paying for software. I bought a bunch of security related windows software but I'm looking for dvd burning software that is either freeware or open source.

    Thanks much.

Imgburn is not open source, and the same goes for Ashampoo Burning Studio, even if I agree on the great quality of both and am using them myself...

    Another :thumb: for Imgburn.
Simple, lean and it does what it is supposed to do without any bloat.

imgburn is nice for what it does. I also use deepburner free. Very easy to use. Also cdburnerXp instead of nero. Does some things other free ones do not. I have been sleeping better since uninstalling Nero. Too bad they became so bloated.

Darn yes, you are right, my apologies. That was probably the thread's title that got misleading me. Note that if I would want to begin nitpicking now, I might go saying that some of the proposals here were not freeware either, but I am not that kind of annoying guy like that...

lol, define freeware. Is that freeware as in no nag screens, aka nagware? In that case, you can't count Avira in. You know, I always that that www.free-av.com was bogus :D with all that stuff for free. I think we have all been duped! Revolution I say, overthrow the nagware!

Where can I buy a free membership now! :)

And how would you say that Burning Studio is even near of a freeware. As for a definition the best place to ask would probably be alt.comp.freeware's old grumpy folks there...

All right, but I would prefer to send it all to your old house, just to be sure that it will not be lost somewhere in cyberspace in the translation process, so what's your snail mail addy and phone # again?
