Does any recommend a specific driver updater? I need to find updated drivers for my hardware. I don't trust any of them, but it will make it easier for me to find the drivers I need if the software is accurate at finding the correct websites. I can verify if the drivers are correct on my own. I already have the latest drivers according to my motherboard provider, I know there have been updates released since. I'm having a major problem with BSOD's so I want to see if updating my drivers will resolve the problem. I already tried updating the drivers for my video card, and that did not work.

@Cutting_Edgetech As suggested, Driver Talent is very good. Driver Booster is also very good. The paid version of Driver Booster, finds more driver updates than the free version. But, a quick Google search should find some giveaways so you can upgrade to the paid version for free.

I use other driver update software as well, but they are two of the best driver updaters.

Thank you Azure Phoenix, and roger_m! That should be a big help. I will definitely give Driver Talent a try tonight, and see what it can find. I will also look into Driver Booster.

    1. No need to update any driver unless you have problems.
    2. Never trust a driver updater. By the way it seems OK to get help from the updater software and then verify and download the drivers manually yourself.

@Gandalf_The_Grey I have found that Driver Booster works better, as sometimes SDI finds incompatible driver updates, whereas Driver Booster doesn't. Having said that, I have seen reports on the internet from people who have had problems from using Driver Booster. But, that has not been my experience from using it on a number of PCs.

Also, Driver Talent is very good, as where possible, it finds manuafacturer supplied drivers instead of the latest ones supplied by the hardware vendor for the device being updated. However, you can select any found driver update, and choose a more recent driver (or even an older one) if you want. Occasionally, it finds incompatible driver updates. But it does so less often than SDI does.

I (now) use the combination of Driver Booster and SDI. Driver Talent does not work on my laptop.

1 doesn't hold true for GPU, especially if you game or do GPU heavy work like transcoding.

Also in my case I needed the most up to date driver for my Intel wifi card to stop random disconnects after the november fall update of Windows 10.

Iv always had good luck with ma-config which is now known as driverscloud. I really like that they have a portable exe to detect drivers.
