Right now I have PerfectDisk 11 Pro and like it okay, but it doesn't defrag by file/folder name. I used to use Ultimate Defrag but it went totally fubared on my system for some reason and I never could straighten it out. I've tried My Defrag and didn't like it at all, so that's not really an option. So I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any other free defraggers that have a file/folder name option? Thanks.

Agreed. It's conveniently on your right-click context menu.

Ultimate Defrag Freeware edition (google it) might have that feature. The others mentioned in the above replies do not.

    Peace,

It's right...UD 1.72 Free from DiskTrix is probably the best and most advanced free defragmenter on market.

Wrong, Puran does. You'll know if you've ever tried it.

I have used it and it does not have then folder/file alphabetical feature. It does have a PIOZOR feature that they claim:

"PIOZR is a revolutionary technology which makes your computer faster than ever before. It works on the simple principle that "Things most needed should be placed at the most accessible places in order." This principle applies to your PC's hard disk as well; The outer edge is the fastest, and as we go inside reading and writing speed slows. PIOZR places frequently used files in order at faster disk areas, boosting the overall system speed."

Puran is a pretty good defrag program but lacks the feature that the OP asked about.

Take a look here: Puran > Additional Operations > Enable File Defrag...

I think OP asked for defragging based on file and folder name(i.e. placement in alphabetical order). As SourMilk mentioned UD can do that(not sure about the free version though). But I question the advantage of sorting by file/folder name.
