My sons computer from college had/has problems. I ran CWS, SpybotSD, and Adaware. Had over 400 items that they removed, and ran multiple times, rebooting each time, and removing more each time. Continue to have problems with CWS, says Cool search trojan - CWS.Smartsearch.2 is present. Please look at the log, and give me any sugestions. Also, had several erros with "common name" program that kept comming back.

    Thanks,

    Barron...

    Hi barron,

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdReg] C:\WINNT\UpdReg.EXE

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Antivirus] C:\WINNT\av.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [fnsyqaos] C:\WINNT\kayejqnm.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AHNUELRY] C:\WINNT\AHNUELRY.exe

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe "C:\WINNT\System32\bridge.dll",Load
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [systray] C:\WINNT\System32\a.exe

    Then reboot into safe mode
    and delete:
    C:\WINNT\av.exe
    C:\WINNT\kayejqnm.exe
    C:\WINNT\System32\bridge.dll
