The dark web has lots to offer an LLM. Forums where much is shared, bought and sold. DarkBERT is one such LLM. South Korean researchers developed it and they use the Tor network to connect their model to the dark web - this system allows access to the dark web without logging in. In the process, it creates a raw database of the data it finds and then puts it into a search engine. This LLM may be useful to security researchers to identify websites that sell information for extortion purposes (ransomware etc.). In addition to crawling through dark web forums, it can also be used to monitor any exchanges of illegal information that takes place on the sites. DarkBERT is multilingual.
