Concerning Ad Block or Ad Block+. Is it a "security" extension, a "speed up page load time" extension, or........ Seems I see it referred to as both. Sure would appreciate some clarification.

Ad blocking yields a number of improvements in online experience:
-noticeable speed gains in certain cases
-less distraction caused by unrequested content
    -privacy gains
    -some security gain(dagerous pop-ups)

Privacy gains: ad cookies for example
Less distraction: ads that hide useful content

Yes, the FF pop-up blocker is good enough

For me, the driving force behind my use of AdBlock, now AdBlock Plus and (at home) Ad Muncher has been to prevent the loading of as many ads as possible. In my case, any ad blocker has made page load time much more tolerable. Especially when I'm at home on dialup. Beyond that, I really haven't found any other benefit...

Thank you lucas1985 and Han. Being fortunate enough to be on DSL load times are rarely an issue.
