I don't know if there's such a list in this forum so I decided to begin a thread about this interesting way to run anti-malware tools.

    I know about these:

    -Dr.Web CureIt!
    -Norman Malware Cleaner.
    -SUPERAntiSpyware Portable.
    -Emsisoft Emergency Kit.
    -Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool.

Would you share others please? :D  :argh:

True, though it will ask for uninstall, once it is finished, unlike Hitman Pro, which will stay on PC scanning it at every startup.

I tried Kaspersky VRT and indeed it does ask for install/uninstall, but I thought that it only created a folder with a portable app within. Maybe I'm wrong. o_O

BTW Hitman looks to be a 1-file only app, but won't it write to the hard drive in the case it detects any updates? o_O

The most recent versions of HMP give you the option to run from flash drive only. Plus if you choose the install to pc option you can uncheck the startup scan before HMP does the first scan.

Kaspersky's VRT has to load drivers which it does when installed (and unloads drivers after it is uninstalled) which is why it isn't "portable" per-say.

Its more of an on-demand scanner than portable.
