List of file encryption software

I had to reinstall my system (8.1) and don't remember the name of the file encryption app that I was using. Now I can't find the program again. From what I remember the program featured multiple algorithms, put in the password first and then drop the file in the box, free, up to 256 bit, the encrypted file would add ".enc" to the name of the file after encryption. That is all I can remember. Is there a comprehensive list of File Encryption software?. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As for your .enc files, that might be hard because several programs use that as the extension for their encrypted files.
Might look at Primasoft, maybe? Copysafe? Simplecrypt? Kruptos? I know those all use .enc.
