Hoping for the Edge iso soon. ETA hmmm may not need the Edge version, looks to be the newest kernal and support for newer hardware in any of the other versions.
I am installing "Wilma" Cinnamon on another computer as I type this post. Actually planning on using it as my "host" OS for a handful of virtual machines. Forget about needing Edge on 21. Mint 22 is running kernel 6.8.xxxx and is in my view a cleaner and nicer version of Ubuntu 24.04, which its based off of. No Snaps and for me Mint just works out of the box. Unless this version proves me wrong, LOL! Running nice in my test in RAM on a 64 GB ddr5 Ryzen 9 machine. Way overkill power for Mint but I have it so why not use it?
Thanks. I'm anxious to find out how well this one is. I been a very long time (in years) proponent of Linux MINT (no fail) system on this end. Portable or Installed. The timing of this "Wilma" release could not be more appropriate.
Hi Brian, I found this, but I can't confirm if it works and accomplishes what you're looking to do: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=367074 Specifically, check the last post in the thread.
Finally engaged Linux "WILMA" 22 MINT today. So far i find it impressive (as usual) and coming from a Windows Only stable where my previous MINT version i had some difficulty. I haven't stumbled much at all with this 22. For the record i am posting this from the built-in Firefox. I don't double boot so can concentrate on learning the ropes on a dedicated Mint 22 station/ aka lappy. Shortly will be back on the Windows rigs as i continue to backup image those systems, and further customize, but just wanted to throw out there from a Linux newbie of sorts that i can foresee transitioning given the way this MS generation refuses to make Windows more acceptable/forgiving for users.
