LinkedIn has a fake account problem it’s trying to fix. Real users are part of the solution

I see that Teams updated on work laptop. New Teams has integration between Teams (work profile) and LinkedIn. Data is shared both ways so your employeer may see some additional data about your work interests

What kind of information can be shared between my LinkedIn and Microsoft accounts?

I wasn't logging in to LinkedIn for a long time. I found some interesting articles via Google posted on LinkedIn. I thought it is good idea to log in.
I used Edge for Business guest account to do that. I made some typo in password once, successfully completed two captchas just to see that LinkedIn suspended my account, and it wants me to confirm my identity by sending ID picture to company called Persona.
That account was one of few mine social media accounts registered on real name, secured by 2FA (TOTP codes), verified by the feature mentioned by OP. What a joke... or not a joke, but an attempt to force more people into Persona?

I share links about those companies parnership announcments
