    Hello,

    after having cloned my HD (1 DOS prt, 1 Linux part, 1 swap part) with TI8 the clone itself won't boot (it will mount and all data are ok). I've been using LILO as the boot manager.
    The boot process will stop when LILO comes up, but only LI is displayed instead of LILO. What can I do?

    usual problem with bootloaders. Since LILO and GRUB map some parts of them over block adresses, you get problems, if these parts move. This is the case if you restore or clone with TrueImage, since TI only copies used blocks.
    You would have to reinstall LILO with a live-cd and the appropiate command. But there should be enough HowTos on the web (and i dont know how one would reinstall LILO).

    Hello Hans,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    We are very sorry for the delay with the response.

    Please do the following in order to reactivate LILO boot manager:

    - Boot the computer from the corresponding Linux distribution installation CD;

    - Enter rescue mode;

    - Issue the following commands:

    #mkdir /mnt/tmp
    #mount /dev/hdXY /mnt/tmp (/dev/hdXY is the root partition)
    #chroot /mnt/tmp
    #/sbin/lilo

    If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.
