Licensing question

I currently hold a ESS license valid to be used on 2 computers, it is valid until 06/03/2013.

If I click on renew exiting license now (before the expiration date has even come close), and added 1 year for it to be used on 4 computers.

What happens in this case?

ESS license gets update to 06/03/2014 valid to be used on 4 computers?

or how does it work?

I know this is a complicated question but I would like to know an accurate answer please.

My understanding is that through the program, one can only renew for the currently licensed number of computers, e.g., for a two computer license, you can only renew for two PCs.

If you want to renew the existing license and add additional new PCs, you will need to contact an ESET reseller (or distributor or office, perhaps) for a license which covers all of them.

Ah I see, because in the past, when I had a few months remaining to my license's expiry, if I would renew, those 2 months would get carried forward.

I hope it is the same case now. Shame about the license though, as the local reseller here in Dubai would charge you an arm and a leg to add another user i've tried that before, it's not like when you purchase the license initially where it would only be a few more bucks to add another user to the license.

Yeah the reseller in Dubai has crazy staff that fail to see the benefit of upgrading a customer and wanted to charge me all over again. I then told them no thanks, they said bye
