    Hi,

We have a single license for Hard Disk Manager 2009 Suite. It is installed on my work PC. Among other things we want to use it to provide restore possibilities for some of our customers. The computers in question are embedded devices running XP Pro.

We want to include a bootable USB flash HD containing BartPE with your plugin and a restore image.

So to my question, are there any licensing gotchas with this scenario?

I'll answer this myself since I got an answer from Paragon support.

They say that our "scenario is not violating the licensing!" so we will go ahead with our plan.

    wilsec,

Distributing of Paragon software without the proper license is against our license agreement, you would need a system builder license and a license for each copy distributed.

Perhaps more importantly however, distributing BartPE is against Microsoft's licensing agreements (because you are in fact distributing Windows XP, this is why you need an XP disk to build the BartPE image, and it is not included).

    Matt,

We have the necesary XP licenses for this.

And of course the HDM licensing should be properly handled. Now I've had two very different responses to the same question from you (Paragon), so this needs to be sorted out. This discussion should be taken of this forum so how do we proceed? Shall I issue a new support request or...?
