This product sounds interesting but I would really like more info about it,,,how it works and more of what I can learn from it,,,before I lay any cash on the table. There is no trail period (you have a 30 day money back guarantee but I am not comfortable with this) and very little info that I could find on the publishers site.

As a rank beginner to this sort of stuff I wonder if the program would be of any real value to me.

    Any comments will be appreciated.

PS: I have a copy of PC Wizard 2008, not sure what the above product will offer for $ that the free PC Wizard will not. Bottom line, would whatever the product might offer beyond info that I can get from PC Wizard be worth the cost.

It displays very detailed information about your computer/notebook and you can do some tests with it. It's a system tool, i don't know if you need it but i'm using since 2006 and it's a nice app.

The trial is supposed to be 30 days, with the only limitation being a nag screen.

Either way there's 29 screenshots of Softpedia showing everything.

Please ask the kind Prevx folks to have a look at it and report back. (have you posted it in the Prevx forum?)

I have the paid-for Ultimate edition and so far I haven't seen a warning, but I don't have Prevx.

    =====

A little history (well known to the oldies here):
Fiery (Tamas Miklos) started the free AIDA many years ago. Just like many others I used AIDA32 for years.
Later AIDA32 evolved into Everest. And later it became pay-for (which I do understand: it takes a lot of time to keep up with all the new hardware).

I do want to congratulate and thank Fiery (and Lavalys) on this milestone of over 100,000 unique hardware devices support!

If you could please save a scan log by clicking Tools - Save Scan Results to report@prevxresearch.com, we will analyze it and correct any FPs :)

Sorry for the delay. I am now getting just one malware alert and have forwarded the scan file to Prevx.

Are you talking about Everest now? o_O I that case, I strongly beg to differ! It's an excellent tool well worth the money.

I completely agree with you, doktornotor.
I think Everest is the de-facto standard for this kind of program, maybe together with Sisoft Sandra; but I personally like Everest more.

Saying that Everest is crapware, is nonsense. Yes, there are free ones too; yes, Everest costs money. Everybody has to make his/her own choice; everybody is free to choose if and which one to use.

Anyway, let's not make this into a heated debate ;)

Well, Everest costs money b/c to have all the feature available there, you need to get your hands on all the supported HW etc. Not really something that'd come for free all the time.
