    Latest Version of "Windows Essentials 2012" Released


    (For both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 and Windows :cool:

    Latest Versions as of October 5th, 2012
    NOTE: To update to the new versions, you will need to run the Windows Essentials installer program again.

    I have WE 2011 installed but I do not remember how many MBs it uses (I looked at Control Program/Programs and Features ... it is blank). Do you know? I would also like to know the size of the download as there are several programs that come in the suite. The link does not indicate the actual size of the download. Clicking on the download button just shows an exe for 1.18MB (this can not be the size of the download).

    Are you sure it will not be upgraded via Windows Update?

    Is there a change log listed anywhere? I can't find one. Movie Maker could be a pretty nice product if it was able to process faster. The last version I used was very slow but had some good features otherwise.

    the updater will only install the update of what is needed plus any additional tools that you require. The file size is approx 215 mb for the full download of Windows Essentials

    Tnx Nick. I'll wait for Windows update to send me the download that will update WE2011. I have removed Messenger and I do not want that horror back.

    I just updated my Live apps. I mostly use Windows Live Mail and there are no obvious differences with this update. Perhaps it's more tweaks for compatibility with Windows 8? If anyone finds a changelog please link :)
