    I quickly checked it out, and would advice to stay away from it, it loads all kinds of system processes during install, very shady.

    You might want to checkout this: https://www.zonealarm.com/anti-ransomware . It's a top scorer but not free. But, at $15/yr USD reasonably priced.

    I scan on-demand (with EEK & Norton Personal Eraser & HitmanPro) & then image 2 times per week. I retain 3 months of images. Is anti-ransomeware something I realy need? (Honest question)

    Just make sure the media those images are on are not connected to your PC. Personally, I do all my imaging outside of main OS install using a Paragon Win PE CD.

    Thanks itman! I image before Windows loads, using R-drive Image (RDI) that uses linux, to an external HUGE capacity HD that is disconnected immediately after use by RDI.

    Interesting thoughts so far! Making me re think..... and question?
    But the is still a lot of big corporation and business being
    hit with ransomware attacks,..... along with everyday users.

    For example,

    By engadget:
    Baltimore ransomware attack will cost the city over $18 million.

    The Wall Street Journal.
    Hackers Won’t Let Up in Their Attack on U.S. Cities.

    Watching various videos on YouTube, by Juan Diaz
    along with other videos tests/reviews. Below are small lists of
    one's that did well against ransomware.

    * Comodo Cloud Antivirus
    * Kaspersky Free Antivirus
    * Malwarebytes
    * Ransom Off
    * Sophos Home Premium
    * VoodooShield

    Zone Alarm did not do so well.... Sorry! Watch the video....

    Hi Moose,

    It seems it is now free. The previous version was paid, but now they accept donations instead.

    The previous version was with а different icon, number version and size and a different company.

    Hi Moose :)

    I came across this press release from Neushield earlier in the week. Wasn't going to post it but because you asked Neushield appears to be doing quite well with it's restore technology:

    "NeuShield Establishes Leadership in Rapid Data Recovery from Cyber Threats

    NeuShield had a record year in 2022 with the SC Media innovation award, partnerships in cyber insurance, and new datacenters product offering

    February 13, 2023 11:00 ET | Source: NeuShield..."

    This app is not related to this thread? And I wonder if anyone has already tested it? I would be very skeptical about these unknown products, because blocking ransomware based on behavior isn't that easy.

    This app is also not related to this thread? Oh wait a minute, I now see Moose's post in this thread so you guys are responding to this. But anyway, I've tried NeuShield and I'm sure it's good in restoring files after an attack, the problem is that it will use quite a lot of diskspace.

    Nope, but I didn't find any related topic where to post it and didn't want to open a new one. :)
    It was just a heads-up about the new version.
