    Hi guys,

Run forever without a single restart. Sounds like a very intriguing idea. Well, I've written an article presenting Ksplice, a utility that allows the running Linux systems to receive kernel patches without reboot downtime.

ive read about it briefly before and thought if it is really as good as it sounds why isnt it part of the kernel itself or maybe part of major distros?
    is there any drawbacks?

I don't think it's considered stable yet. Or, at least, it hasn't went through the kernel inclusion process, which can take a while before Linus T. will approve it.
