For some Naysayers of Kingsoft AV,
Kingsoft will be tested by AV-Comparatives 2013.
I know it was mentioned in some other thread.
It's a big victory for Kingsoft AV; therefore, I put the message in the separate thread.
    Just a friendly reminder.

Yes I feel like there was a lot of tests on youtube that simply destroyed Kingosft. Lets see how they do on something more official.

now it would be nice to know if the company is still alive because no one since dec 2012 has responded on their web forum or on their facebook page but they are still sending out definitions every day
I have it on many of my computers and my clients computer. I like the product but I would like to know if the company still exists and is running

Yep. Kingsoft AV. The forum has been silent and no mods have posted for a while now. It would be nice if 2013 came out as a surprise or something.

I find it pretty strange that they are testing Kingsoft 2012 against 2013 products. Unless I am not aware of something that AV testers got their hands on 2013 version?

They test the version that the vendors want them to test. Like in 2012 Avast wanted Avast Free to be tested, but they could also have said that they wanted AIS to be tested. In other words it's up to the vendor. At least thats how it have been in recent years :)

There is a Chinese version of Kingsoft 2013. Some testers are using it.
I cannot tell you if the Chinese version 2013 has Avira's anti-malware engines.
If Kingsoft 2013 AV has Avira's engines, it means that until Avira resolves its compatibility issues with Windows 8, we won't have the English Version of Kingsoft 2013 AV.

Re: It would be nice if 2013 came out as a surprise or something.

To me the fact they are commiting to testing indicates kav2013 will be out by then...they will want their best product in show I would think.
Actually im running kav alongside avira personal right now... Im thinking that might be getting close to 2013 protection. Any news of what features there will be besides avira engine?

W7ult64, KAv, Avira personal, Comodo Firewall, Dnscrypt, Sandboxie, Emet, Antiphishing Domain Advisor, Adfender, ...trying Spotflux on top of all that...running very stable and fast

Just by looking at your programs, I would say that EMET is too heavy and "too much".

Here are some features of Kingsoft 2013 AV from their forum:
