No, You can manually reinstall K. root certificate, but I guess the product will auto-install it:

The root certificate is installed in Windows, not in the browsers. In the past cert was also installed inside FireFox, but recently this changed, and now it can use the certificate installed in Windows:

You can remove the Kaspersky cert. in FireFox as shown in the below screen shot. Select the Kaspersky cert. and mouse click on the "Delete or Distrust" tab. However, the Kaspersky root cert. must also be removed from Windows root CA store if present using certmgr.msc since both Firefox and Chrome now defer to the Windows root CA store

I assume Chrome has a similar capability.

    Hi @harlan4096 @itman

I use firefox and chrome , but seeing they are installed in operation system , i guess other programs do use them like microsoft browsers and thunderbird (or thunderbird doesn't use them ) ?
I have tried to remove from windows using certmgr.mscs , but should I delete everything related to Kaspersky?

can I ask you why does windows use the Kaspersky root authority?
I have 2 kaspersky cert in windows kaspeersky root authority and kaspersky lab JSC
    have you removed?
    thanks

If you don't use any of Kaspersky apps, you can remove them all. Win doesn't need them.

Assumed is at one time you used a Kaspersky product and it installed its certs. in the Win root CA store. AV's should remove their certs. when the product is uninstalled but that doesn't always happen.

As far as how Chrome and Firefox work, they both now defer to the Win root CA store for cert. retrieval. That is if the AV cert. doesn't reside in the Firefox or Chrome root CA store, the browser will look for it in the Win root CA store. This eliminates the need for AV's to initially load and update their certs. in the Firefox or Chrome root CA stores.
