Will there ever be a kaspersky free in english?
Maybe not. But you can supposedly change the UI of the Russian version to English.
I'm going to find a spare computer to install Kaspersky Free onto and try it.
Im not that skilled with computers to do this i dont think
It doesn't matter anway. While it isn't that hard to change it from Russian to English, doing so deactivates the free license.
It would be better if it would be all (it means Kaspersky & Co) gone, and forever. Spooky manure. Cheating of people to get money.
thats a bummer
Only if you pay for Kaspersky AV.
Kaspersky free Av is available and has been out for a while - https://www.kaspersky.se/free-antivirus. Very interesting!
Review - http://bestfreeantiviruss.com/kaspersky-free-antivirus-review/
But it's only available in Russia and some European countries, and there is no English language version.
Its for the comrades in Russia/Ukraine.
I doubt we'll see Kaspersky AV Free offered worldwide any time soon.
Wow, I didn't know Sweden had the free version available! Nice.
zonealarm has a free version of its software and it it is kaspersky AV for free plus their ZA firewall
Not really. It is licensed from Kaspersky but the Av that comes with the free firewall does not even have all the features that the free real Kaspersky Av has. And Kaspersky free is stripped down as it is.
It's time to learn Swedish ...
... or Russian
Sweden is easy to learn
Well you dont get a "swedish" version, it´s in english, testing it since some time, and it seems qjuite good, and it uses very little resourses.
I am not so shure about that, but Swedish is . At least compared to German, or mandarin.
I already know the most important phrases for Swedish holiday: Du är söt and puss och kram
Come on Kaspersky, give us an English or German version as well.
I´ve been using the Swedish version of Kaspersky free for a month now. It works nice and I can dig deep in the settings to configure it if I want to, but it protects really nice out of the box. It comes bundled with their VPN service with free 200MB download a day for testing, I decided to pay for a month ($5) and it worked really nice and as far as I could see it had all the protection of other VPN services (according to https://ipleak.net) and worked really good for the month I tested it.
I was surprised that they had a free version. I wonder why only a few selected languages get the free version, what is the thinking behind that? I mean, why Swedish? I cant see that there is a free Finnish version for example.
Just out of curiosity, not to get a free licence:
Downloaded and installed the swedish KAV-free yesterday.
It`s swedish, not english.
Did a registry hack, to get english, but that voided my licence.
Yup. Changing the language voids the license and Kaspersky is swift to crack down on hacks.
Ah, in the old days, you could just take the license file from a product using KAV engine, use it on KAV and you'd get a nearly perpetual developer's license.
Glad Kaspersky has done a lot to crack down on piracy.
Norwegian is available as well:
BTW: Norwegian should be very similar to Swedish?!
Kind of, if I put my mind to it I could read Norwegian, but it is a struggle but interesting fact is that generally Norwegians and Danes understand Swedish with more ease than Swedes understand Norwegian and Danish.
Separate names with a comma.
