According to the chart given earlier, it does not have the ff. feature: "Removes viruses and repairs your PC, even if it was infected before you installed our software." Can anyone confirm this?

And what is this option supposed to do? Maybe a pre-scan during the installation process? I can assure you that Kaspersky Free (and all previous versions so far like Kaspersky Free Antivirus (KFA) and Kaspersky Security Cloud - Free (KSCF)) can clean infected systems (if the malware allows it to install of course). But you can always use Kaspersky Rescue Media or KVRT in such scenarios anyway.

This looks like more marketing, since the free version is too good.

The better chart is the one below and far more accurate: (even it is for an older version of Kaspersky Free).

Btw, such chart didn't exist in the comparison of the older product line as well:

The GUI takes a little getting used to compared to KSC but other than that, I'm pretty happy with Kaspersky Plus.

Kaspersky Plus is basically the same program with a new, and in my view, better UI.

About this matter, I think that chart is referring to these 2 tools:

Emergency Recovery, You can manually download the iso and burn it in a USB device.

Microsoft Windows Troubleshooting Wizard, usually checks some registry keys system for modifications.

Does that means KFree can't remove preinstalled malware in a system? Totally false...

I wonder why the free version is newer than the paid version?

You can download and update it manually from the link above. It will apply the version regarding the license.

    K. Rescure Disk, yes... You can download manually visiting. In K. paid versions, just a direct link inside the product:

The other one is not a standalone tool.

That is one thing that bugs me about Kaspersky. Why doesn't it update in a timely manner? I wouldn't have even known about this update had I not been browsing their forum.

Well in my case, I never read about updates. I just let it update when it decides to. I don't care if I'm using an outdated version or not, because I know it will automatically update to the latest version at some point.

Not from the program directly. See if ShellExView works.
