Well, I bought a new key from a third party store but can't find any way to enter it into KSC. I have added it to my.kaspersky so hopefully it will automatically apply once my current license expires. Otherwise I'll have to download from my account and install over the top. The tray icon is still bright red.
At bottom right of GUI click on license time remaining info. > opens new window > click-on "Enter Activation Code"
Thanks but nope. Clicking "Problem found" brings up this: None of those options allow me to enter a key.
Sorry Krusty -- I was working off of KIS and the GUI appeared to be the same. I think what you have already done via My Kaspersky is sufficient. "When you buy a renewal code in any other online store, you will have to add the code to My Kaspersky manually." https://support.kaspersky.com/us/13769
Has anyone thought about the impact on Kaspersky with the potential conflict between Russia and Ukraine? I know that Kaspersky has now relocated its data-processing to Switzerland and Transparency Center in North America, but obviously Kaspersky's headquarters are still in Moscow. Just for clarity, this isn't a bash on Kaspersky or an conspiracy theory, simply a question on their capability to not comply with orders from their government (if any are ever given). I've always personally trusted Kaspersky and used KIS for 10+ years, but considering recent events it would be nice to hear other people's thoughts.
I'd be just as worried if they complied with yours. That said what are they going to do? As I've stated before, do they really want to destroy the reputation of an international business to spy on you and I? Seems doubtful. I doubt any of the major players are any more or less trustworthy than the others. Proof of nefarious actions would end them pretty much immediately and permanently.
I suppose they *could* introduce new capabilities they wanted to through a patch, a botnet, encrypt data, ect. But yes, almost immediately they would become regarded as untrustworthy and then bye bye Kaspersky. I suspect Eugene wouldn't *want* to destroy the reputation of one of best regarded security software companies to have existed, which he holds his own name to, but if his government were to force the company to perform any nitriferous actions, could they resist? Hopefully it'll never happen, but the world is a strange place at the moment.
True, anything is possible but again, this is possible with any company and you should probably worry more about your ISP and cell phone provider than a company based in another country. I don't know that this convinces you to worry less but I really would not be concerned about this. There are far greater threats to your computer security.

At 15:09 today my license expired. Yep, it counted down to the minute. I'm not sure if I needed to or if it may have linked automatically later, but I clicked on Renew which now gave me an option to click "I have a subscription". It then checked my account and allowed me to select the new key. I'm now covered for 366 days and my tray icon is green again. On my mobile all I needed to do was check for updates for the new license to activate. Maybe that's all that was required on my laptop too? Anyway, job done and I know for next year if I choose K again.
Note that the Release Notes give an incorrect date for Patch H: "Patch H for Kaspersky Internet Security version 21.3.10.391 was released on January 31, 2021."
You quoted my post so I'm guessing you thought that restarting my machine hadn't occurred to me. Without exaggeration, this machine has been restarted at least a dozen or more times today for various other, non Kaspersky reasons, so thanks for your advice but it's not needed.
First you have to do a manual database update, then reboot.... then it show which patch is installed.
I received Patch G on this machine this morning, along with a pop up asking me how easy it was to purchase KSC.
