Three options - select the text and

    1) click the new page button on the 'layer/window buttons' toolbar. A new layer will open with Google search results.
    2) right-click, Selected Text, choose a search engine
    3) click the search button on the 'search' toolbar for a Google search. Right-clicking on the button will bring up different search engines and options.

    Take your pick :)

Be sure to configure K-mel's privacy plug-in. To do so...
Edit > Preferences > Plugins >Click Privacy Plugin > Click Configure.

Lots of choices. I have mine clean out the cache every time I exit the browser. But I don't have it clean the cookies. For that I use Cookie Monster -- my favorite on-demand cookie eater. FREE! It configures to K-mel & multiple other browsers easily & beautifully.

K-mel's excellent support forum is at...

If you want to update K-mel's gecko engine to the latest from Mozilla (if & ONLY if you are an experienced computer person) go to...

@bellgamin - thanks for the Cookie Monster tip. On the K-Meleon forum I found this macro to integrate CM into KM; works a treat.

Basically no difference. K-Meleon is built from a Firefox base, so both browsers are affected by the same vulnerabilities. Also note bellgamin's point about updates; the official K-Meleon 0.9 hasn't been updated since January, so you need to run the patch to update the Gecko engine, or grab an unofficial build from this list. Guenter's builds are closest to the official release.
