Eldar, where are the settings to change the dpi from 300 to 200? My PSP justs practically stops everything running, I read if you change that setting and put less "junk" in your Jasc PSP file, (keep them in a separate file) it helps tremendously. I have done everything but change the dpi. Do you know where I can find it?? I have looked really!o_O

There are several ways of doing it.
    1. Go to File > Preferences > General Preferences > Units (see image below)
    2. The resolution can be changed when creating a new image
    3. When resizing you can also change this.

    I hope this helps. ;)

Ok......I don't have a clue what you 2 are talking about....
That's Ok, tho......I happy with whatever settings I have.

Ok.....I've seen a few comments about saving the pictures.

Not sure if ya know, but Steve's got this security thing on the computer called ShadowMode. Well, when SM is turned on~which is most of the time~when the computer is turned off....everything done on the computer or saved in the computer is erased automatically.

So, about the saving pictures........Yes.....I am saving the pictures on the computer from where ever I find them. And then, I'm loading them on the PSP to work on them. But, if I change my mind on something I've done, I can always close out the picture and start over by reloading it up again.
But, the good thing is...that when I'm done with a picture and I've posted it and everything
~ we don't have to get stuck having all these useless pictures saved in the computer ~

(that's an annoyance of mine), because as soon as I turn the computer off
(yes! sometimes I turn the computer off http://bestsmileys.com/anxious/4.gif)

as soon as I turn the computer off everything that was saved is erased........
which is OK because I don't really need any of the pictures after I've posted them.

Ok Eric, did that last lesson pretty easily.
(helps when ya got step by step directions~your such a good teacher!)

It's all about setting your preferences on creating a new image.
Setting it too high can really slowdown your computer or even make it crash. :doubt:

Too bad you can't save those pictures, without losing them.
Don't you have a second HD, where SM would not be active?
I really don't know anything about it. o_O

You could always save the picture first, but not using the original picture to work on. How do you do that?
    It's real easy.
Open original and go to Window > Duplicate.
    Close the original now.

Yeah, that's great, but it's something I forgot to mention on the previous lesson about text.
    Glad you found it. :D
Thanks Cindy, it's really a pretty neat trick to use and so simple.
Petra loves the images you posted for our sons. :-*

I also saved them to my computer, but they are all saved as GIF.
Best save them as JPG, if you don't want to lose too much quality.
    ;)

Nice pictures for Sophie & Marja too. You're really enjoying it. :D

Next lesson is about defloating text. o_O
Just have to prepare it, so you'll now what to do.
    Till later on. ;)

Another simple lesson and nice trick:

    Defloating Text

    http://img207.echo.cx/img207/2944/pspdefloatingtxt7bd.jpg

    1. Open a picture

    2. In the Materials palette set the background color to black and the foreground to white

    3. Select the Text tool and set the mode to Selection text.
Choose any font you like and make the font size quite large

    4. Type in some text into the Text box and click apply. You'll see a selection on your picture

    5. Move now the mouse cursor over the text selection, until you see a cross tool, so you can move it.
Click and drag the selection slightly up and to the right. A black shadow appears behind the text.

    6. Now go to Selections > Defloat and click the swap colors in the Materials palette to reverse the foreground/background colors, making white the background color.

    7. Place your cursor over the selection and now click and
drag slightly to the left and down. A white area will be created on your text selection.

    8. Use CTRL+D to turn off the selection and look at what you've created.

You can use any of the brush tools, flood fill, airbrush, filters and picture tube tools to fill the text selections.
You can even paste an image into your selection.
(First copy your image and go to Edit > Paste > Paste into Selection.)

On my example here below I didn't use any of those filters, brushes, ... mentioned above, but you can do so.

    Keep playing. ;)

I meant by that, that I didn't use any filters, brushes and so on  ... only the black and white colors were used.
I did however follow the lesson. :)

Edit: already corrected in the previous post.

Nope, Steve says there's only 1 HD http://img116.exs.cx/img116/934/z0tdntknw.gif

You do know that this comes real close to being
    ~"Computer Talk"~

~and that is NOT allowed on this thread! http://img115.exs.cx/img115/9916/z4dwink.gif~
    [IMG]
That's what I'm doing. I'm saving pictures on the computer ~ in our "Pictures". So in a way, I'm working on a copy of it on the PSP. That's what I ment when I said this

~I'm loading them on the PSP to work on them.
But, if I change my mind on something I've done, I can always close out the picture and start over by reloading it up again.~

OK..........its not the prettiest.......But, I wanted to show you that I did it!!

That's really cool moving the font with the shadow thing!!

I tried to color in the bottom row.........but it wouldn't let me......just kept messing up the backround http://www.foroedonkey.com/vb/images/smilies/pensando.gif

~Maybe my font wasn't big enough to fill it in~

You can use any of the brush tools, flood fill, airbrush, filters and picture tube tools to fill the text selections.
You can even paste an image into your selection.
(First copy your image and go to Edit > Paste > Paste into Selection.)

    Kinda lost me here.........

I filled the letters in with the Flood Fill

Try it first with the white & black, before pasting colors or applying anything else. Nice try though. :)

Here's an example where I pasted your airplane into the text selection, but left the background white. ;)

p.s.: Going to watch 'Attack of the clones  , so i'll answer to the rest later on.

Ok.......I stop there so you can see it.

not quite sure how to fill-in the front-bottom line with color......so it doesn't look so hard to read??

Do I need to get the ants around the letters to fill them in.........cuz it always seems to mess up the picture?
