Just looking at the purchase screen on NOD32

    It gives an option for a discount code to be put in.

    Are these available to the general public? If so is it worth getting and how would I go about obtaining a code?

    Where exactly are you looking ? Such codes are given in special cases and they are not resident AFAIK

    most cart systems offer coupons and discount codes in their functionality - just because you see a box for one at checkout, doesn't mean there are any that would be valid.
