Just downloaded and installed the OpenVPN GUI. How do I use it?

    How do I configure the GUI to use one of the OpenVPN proxies?

    I'm not using Windows much.

    You put the .ovpn file for your VPN provider in C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config
    (or whatever drive you installed it to). I use embedded certs, so I just have the .ovpn file...you may also have carious .crt,.key, or .pem files to add in there....depends on your provider and what they offer.

    You just take all the stuff the VPN provider gives you, go to your OpenVPN folder in C:/ and dump them all in the "Config" folder. Then just open OpenVPN GUI, and right click the icon and you will see all your servers.

    To prevent accidentally running the GUI as non admin I always go to Properties then Go to the Compatibility tab, select the Privilege Level box that says “Run this program as an administrator.

    I also do this, everyone should. Along with changing your DNS manually to make sure there are no DNS leaks.
