    Running WinXP. Did Ad-Aware and removed 855 objects. Ran PC-Cillin. Found JS_FORTNIGHT.M. Searched registry and computer for specific files indicated by TrendMicro, but could not locate. There was an e-mail address which ended in @yahoo.com.url - is that a problem? System Restore is off. Virus seems to be coming back. Attached is Hijack This.

    Before you start, please unzip hijackthis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder in the folder it's in.
    These easily get lost in a Temp folder.

    Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    I ran HJT and fixed the items indicated. I went into safe mode and deleted:
    C:\Program Files\VBouncer <= entire folder
    c:\program files\clientman <= entire folder

    This folder has some read only files, so I could not delete the entire folder. Should I go in and uncheck the read only first, and then delete the folder?
    C:\Program Files\Common files\WinTools <= entire folder

    Could not find these files:
    C:\Program Files\Common files\updater <= entire folder
    C:\Program Files\iWon <= entire folder

    Hi SWCS,

    Before you start please unzip hijackthis.exe to a folder of it´s own. The program creates backups in the folder it is in. In a Temp folder they easily disappear.

    Check the following items in HijackThis.
    Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=50039

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=50039

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=50039
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {87766247-311C-43B4-8499-3D5FEC94A183} - C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\WinTools\WToolsB.dll

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {87766247-311C-43B4-8499-3D5FEC94A183} - C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\WinTools\WToolsB.dll

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinTools] C:\Program Files\Common files\WinTools\WToolsA.exe

    The folders you could not find are not so bad, but as you may see the WinTools folder has got to go.
    In safe mode worked for everyone sofar, but do whatever it takes to get rid of it.
