I've always liked Unlocker but this Malwarbytes Pro has FileAssassin, which do you

Doesn't the freeware MBAM have FileASSASSIN as well?

I've got the free version of MBAM and fileassassin is in there. Never had to use it so don't know if it would work although when clicking on it, another screen will turn up.

They're not the same thing that can replace each other. Unlocking files is far more useful than outright deletion, because it allows modification, transfer, etc. Not to mention Unlocker works on folders and drives.

    Yep,they're different.
I use both Unlocker and Iobit unlocker. If one of them fails (very very rarely btw),the other one do the job.

Ha! Ha! I remember seeing that chart recently too. I may have been updating Unlocker or something. I didn't really pay attention to who/what the competition was of course. I see FileAssassin is there.

I'm pretty sure that a long time ago I asked them on the MBAM forums if FileASSASSIN works in the free version & they told me it would. I have never had to use it though.

Maybe a bit OT but has anyone tried Unlocker on Win8? Does it work?
