hi, i'm not really sure what the admins/mods think about posting animated gifs like this outside 10F. the reason i ask is i noticed there's been concern recently about the content of some posts/threads. after looking at the thread (i link to below), i, myself, think my post looks abit 'sloppy'. i don't think i'd post something like that in the middle of an active thread, but this thread was effectively over! https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=138195 really, i want to know what the trouble as been with the content of threads. is there a post/thread which summerises what the problems are/were, or what's considered acceptable? thanks. iceni60 (i'm at Helens)
The animated GIF in that case is perfectly OK in my opinion. Do not ever worry about what kind of images should be posted and what not. If something was not right, then you would be contacted by a moderator/administrator team member via PM; or the post would be edited. There has been no real trouble with the content of threads; just that ten-forward discussions were getting a little out of hand; that is all. Just read the announcement by LowWaterMark on the ten-forward forum and you'll know what it was all about. You don't need to worry about anything.
i'm not worried, i just wondered if any changes have been made that i might have missed. i saw what LWM had written; then i saw 1 or 2 mods say something like "give it some time and there'll be a more solid outline/guideline for how the admins would like things to be" so, like i said - i'm not worried, i only really wanted to know if anything more had been written about it. i don't spend too much time in 10F so i thought i might have missed something which the 'staff' had said. i suppose it's no big deal, they just want 10F to be more enjoyable for everyone and it's not about the rest of the forum.
Its just that the discussion at hand must remain related to the topic started by the original poster. A simple 'Thanks' with an animated GIF is IMO not unrelated to the topic of the original post. So hang in there; and enjoy.
