Is this even possible?

Just wondering if anybody thinks this is a good idea.

What if your windows partition is completely wiped, making your acronis installation inaccessable (deleted), and for some reason you do not have a Acronis recovery CD by your side.

Wouldn't it be helpful if the Master Boot Record, loaded Acronis TrueImage when F11 is pushed (assuming the Acronis recovery manager is activated), but loading Acronis True image from the SecureZone. That way, your windows partition could be completey corrupted (by virus, accidental screwup etc), and still be able to have a successful recovery EVEN without a Recovery CD!

Afterall, what good is the Acronis Recovery Manager, if when pushing F11, tries to load Acronis from where you originally installed it within windows, and the partition becomes corrupted, thus corrupting your acronis trueImage installation.

Another idea, if the Master Boot Record could be simple modified slightly to specify the path to Acronis True Image, then implementing this ability would be as simple as copying Acronis recovery files to either another user created partition aside from the windows partition, or by having Acronis some how create a tool which allows storing additional files onto the SecureZone, and changing the Master Boot Record to load acronis from there when F11 is pushed.

    Hello guest,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please be aware that Acronis Secure Zone is used to store both your images and special boot loader called Acronis Startup Recovery Manager.

As Irina has already said in other thread you can install the program, create Acronis Secure Zone, uninstall Acronis True Image 8.0 keeping Acronis Secure Zone and Acronis Startup Recovery Manager and continue using Acronis True Image 8.0 without actually having the software installed under Windows.

What concerns your second question, I advice you to post your requests for the additional features in Acronis True Image WISH-LIST thread.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

    Thank you.
