Is the XP SP3 listed on the freeware sites today the final?

    It's a Release candidate, so most of the code is finished with no serious bugs present. If the testing of this RC goes well, it will be very similar to the final build.

    Microsofts Release Candidates are feature complete and do not contain show stopping bugs and include complete installers.

    From a quick google it looks like they are using release (as opposed to debug) optimised code, so should give us full performance.

    Also it appears to be the same build that MSDN subscribers (which my company is) have had available to download since November (We never use pre-release products though).

    Im looking forward to see how the new security features fare.
