Hello, I'm not sure what Shadow Defender is doing but whenever I exit Shadow Mode (Which I put on all of my drives) it takes about 3-5 minutes to restart even though I use a SSD and my regular boot time is a few seconds which leads me to wonder if Shadow Defender could be damaging my drives.
What operating system are you using? If it is Win 10 do you have Fast startup/Fastboot disabled ? (this is recommended)
I am using Windows 10. I did have fast startup turned on but have just disabled it thanks to your suggestion. However, the tooltip says "This helps start your PC faster after shutdown. Restart isn't affected". I am currently working on my PC so I can't test it right now but I always exit Shadow Mode with a reboot so are you sure that's why it does that?
The maker of Shadow Defender recommends that it is turned off. Yes although Restart is like a cold boot, Fastboot is still something I turn off on all my machines. This means when I shutdown my machines they are really shutdown and not just having a sleep ! Give it a test and post back.
With SSD and Windows 10 Shadow Defender works well. Exit from shadow mode should happen quickly, in just a few seconds. Fast start can have an impact. Integration of software into the Windows boot menu can also have an impact. Described in more detail in this topic https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thr...hadow-defender-support-thread.293075/page-231
