    Hello m8s

I was wondering if anybody knows if this product Plaxo (www.plaxo.com) is spyware or contents any malicious code?

The thing looks very interesting for managing your contacts.

    Thanks for the help

    Hi Thorz :)

Take a look at this link,

    http://www.leedrake.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=879

According to them, Plaxo is a little suspicious. ;)

    Hope this helps.

Damn... the infomation is scarse. Even in that page only the wired link was working.
I am going to stop the installation and hopfully other board users could give some insights about it.
I wonder if it was really dangerous it would be everywhere on google, and I don't seem to fiind negative references, the first one was the page of that link.

    Hi Thorz,

I feel the same as one of the comments posted there at that link you posted.
Ignoring the emails asking for more (personal) information seems like the best course of action.

Seeing that these emails get repeated if you don't respond, using the program might cost you more friends then it will bring you comfort. Because people might get annoyed.

I have never heard of Plaxo abusing the information, but if you don't give it to them, they will not be tempted to do so either. ;)

Another thing to consider is the fact that these emails get sent without the need of your interaction. Which in turn could lead to misinterpretation of firewall (and other) logs.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Agree. I am just deleting these Plaxo mails, not even look at them. I am even gonna put them in my trash filter.
