I'm not one to download a new version until the bugs are pretty much worked out, so what is the general consensus on NOD32 Antivirus 5. Thanks in advance!

Just curious what this live installer is also. I read someone say they didn't want to use it. Any feedback on that also appreciated.

You may avoid the live installer by downloading from the below links:

    http://www.eset.eu/download/registered

    http://www.eset.eu/download/trial

You would have to Browse this sub-forum to make the determination for yourself if you are ready to proceed to the v5 engine.
If your software is outdated, perhaps this would be a step in the right direction.

    Thanks!
So it's just extra protection on top of the regular AV protection of previous versions? Still not sure I understand it's primary function.

    Thanks again!

Still not sure the best way to configure it though. I'm assuming just leaving it at the default settings would be fine, since I've never had any major problems without it even being there. Just not sure.

Choose advanced set-up when installing, this way, you will be offered all the options. Someone should post a guide or put up a stickie for this.

If you look at figure 2.5 you will see the custom installation mode prompt.

Yeah, I saw that, and I've never used the custom installation, as it has always been recommended to just install NOD32 with the default settings. I'd have to reinstall it now to get the advanced setup now, yes?

You would have to do a full reinstallation to be offered these options, save your settings first.

Well, it's basically default settings, other than my scheduler setting for my weekly scan, so that doesn't warrant saving my settings. What I'm more curious about is whether or not it's worth it to configure this HIPS. Is it really that critical, as opposed to the default setting it's at now?
