My oldest son gifted me a late 2013 16" MBP11,3 (w/SSD) for Christmas of that same year. That notebook has only occasionally been externally unpowered while the the self-abused 85W MagSafe A85 Power Adapter was replaced earlier this year. I have always concluded that leaving A.C. power connected, and macOS running, functioned much like a welcome U.P.S. arrangement.

Yet, the near 8-year old OEM DynaPack 6-part Li-ion battery assembly remains fairly serviceable (89.4% remaining life) but probably should be field replaced forthwith due to minor swelling. Still, I am mindful that my MBP's macOS Big Sur is ineligible for upgrade to macOS Monterey.

    Overall - I'm sooo disappointed... </SARCASM>

I don't get it, why would you want to leave your computer always on, I always put it into standby mode, just like with any other appliance.

    Hello @Rasheed187

Due to challenged circadian rhythms, usually it's me who slips into the sleep mode eventually followed by the notebook whilst balanced on my stomach...

    Cheers
