After my postings in this forum under anti-malware 3.5 guard crashed, and reading all the help given there, (thank you very much!), last night I immediately went and downloaded the 4.0 version, as directions stated. I then went ahead and let the complete scan run while sleeping. In the morning, it showed that there were no threats found, which was odd to me. No cookies cleared, nothing, zero, nada. So I went back to the scan page to chose individual scans, and started with the "Memory Scan". It started to run, 0 seconds of time elapsed, 31 objects scanned and BAM!..completely froze the machine, including the mouse! I had to shut down at the box, instead of the shutting down with the Start. When I re-booted, I opened my Firefox(tm) Browser page, opened Tools-Options-and checked to see if it had cleared the cookies. AACK! ALL cookies were still there! I am very worried that this new version is not protecting my machine!

At first, cool down, cause with ewido 4.0 you are using a very good Software.

What options are activated at the Option " Scanner " ?

In regards to the cookie question....since you say you are using Firefox....perhaps you have your 3rd party(tracking) cookies set to block ?

Well.... I also use Firefox and have updated as posted in this forum earlier too. I'm running scans this morning and EWIDO is finding 2 that it says is removed.... but I run it again and they are still there. The 2 are:
    Questionmarket
    Adtech
I have updated the program, I have gone in the settings and set it to delete as the action to take and it doesn't remove them. It finds them fine but doesn't remove them. The old 3.5 ver would kill em dead. I wish I had it back....
I have removed those 2 cookies by hand.

:thumb: Thanks honeybunny..all cool..no worries..thanks! Now, at Settings, at the scanner page, under "How to scan"...I have all 5 boxes checked. And under "Possibly unwanted software"...I have all 4 boxes checked. And at "What to scan?" I have scan every file checked. Is this what you are refering to? But I still need an answer, if you could, for the bigger problem I stated. Why did my machine freeze up when running an individual "Memory Scan"? This can't be right.
