Depends on the deal you sign up for. I was on trialpay the other day looking at getting a free avira antivir license. All it said i had to do was sign up for a free 14 day trial of a particular online service and i would get a free avira license. So i signed up and got my free license. After the 14 days i'll just end my trial and hopefully i get to keep my free license.
