    Difference:
    HitmanPro: 2nd opinion malware scanner
HitmanPro.Alert: exploit mitigation tool with other malware-disrupting features

price difference: none, with one license you get both.

HitmanPRO is one of those tools you MUST have in case of an emergency, or just routine checks.

    8/10, would totally buy it.

    Well...
I hope that you understand that each software developer also has reoccurring costs that have to be covered.

  7. IMO The interesting feature of HitmanPro is that you can use it to scan your system for free. Developers are so nice to offer a trial to remove malware after having found an infection. When it has removed malware it has proven its value, so its fair to ask for a license fee.

Do you have a need for this software that outweighs other financial priorities?

We all do--no special treatment there.

Is there a posted list of known issues/conflicts?

Edit in: I should clarify that I am referring to HitmanPro Alert when I ask about issues/conflicts. The OP posed the question, "What the difference between HitmanPro and HitmanPro Alert?", and I piggy-backed on that. :)

I bought a two year licence when it was on sale that runs out this autumn. I will probably prolong it as I don't like waiting 10 seconds to close it down and also like to support developers. Though, I will still look for a good deal.

It's worth it to me. I ran the free version for a long time, then went for the 3PC for 1YR license, and then renewed again with 3PC for 3YR license. As noted by Minimalist, supporting the developer entered into my decision to purchase.

Totally worth the price and you get 2 programs for the price of 1.

Note that HitmanPro and HitmanPro Alert use the same license so when you subscribe you have both.

Does it conflict with Kaspersky? I have the free version, but am not sure about compatibility if it ran all the time.
    Thanks,
    Jerry

How can you run HMP "all the time?" If you are talking about HMPA, Kaspersky lists it as incompatible, but who knows? HMPA is not a Kaspersky Auto-Uninstall. It's listed under Manual Uninstall as being incompatible.

I'm sure it's worth it, but I feel well protected already.
