    Hello!

For practical reasons I started using this Gmail Notifier program:
    http://www.gmailnotifier.com/

It works really fine but I'm a little concerned about the safety and security. Am I exposed to a security risks any more than by using the classic Gmail login on their official site?

Is ti possible for the author of that Gmail Notifier program to see my emails or do something else to lessen the security?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

According to Virustotal scan installer is safe. In their FAQ they say that they don't spy on you :)

Yes, I know all that but am not sure if I can really trust them. And also, how secure it really is - it works through IMAP and that's all I really know...

If you're not sure, just don't use it. I personally try to stay away from these kinda apps, too risky if you ask me. ;)
