As title. It's free to install on the Android Market but the eset.co.uk website seems to say it's Trial software and has a price.

    Also:

    * It looks like the version on the Android Market is an old release, why is that?
    * Like ESS for Windows, is one of it's USPs (unique selling points) that it's very low on resources? I'd find a slow phone more annoying than a slow PC.
    * Is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich support coming? Especially as that's intended for smartphones as well as tablets.

    Thanks.

    dont agree with SweX

When the final v5 of nod32 was released, my v5 RC was still good for more than 30 days even if i already used it for mor then 30 days too !

It could be the same for Eset mobile security for Android. Try the RC version for free until the final version is released (in 30 days or more) and may be after the final release.

dont see any 30 days trial notification in the download web page

Well I see it in this way.

Question > Will it be a 30 Day trial? > I said AFAIK Yes, and a Trial = not Freeware.

And I was saying that based on the name of this thread:
Is ESET Mobile Security on Android free?
(I read that like the OP was asking if the Final released product would be FREE)

But then again my words are no official words!

Thanks guys. It looks like the RC is free, the final version will be a 30 day trial (if so, how much?).

Can someone answer my other questions please? Thanks.

    Hello,

The version of ESET Mobile Security for Android available through the Android Market is a release candidate for program and not the production version. The release candidate will be removed about the time the production version becomes generally available.

The production version will be licensed, much in the same fashion as ESET's other smartphone offerings, ESET Mobile Security for Symbian and ESET Mobile Security for Windows Mobile.

I do not have any information about release dates and license terms to share at the time. Contact with your local ESET reseller, distributor of office for the latest information and they will let you know when it becomes available in your region.

Support for newer versions of Android is planned, but for now ESET Mobile Security for Android should be considered a release targeted at smartphones running Android 2.x.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
