    Hello all,

I made the switch to Mint Cinnamon two weeks ago, it is very new to me but so far I still like it very much and have not had much trouble with it. One question though, I have searched but not found much info online, I am dual booting Mint with Windows 10 on a 6 year old laptop with 6 GB of ram and a 1TB hard drive. It works ok but I wonder does Mint do even better when it is not on a dual booted computer? Would it run any faster or be any more efficient?

I appreciate any help on this. Thanks.

If it is a spinning hard drive then there are spots that are slightly faster, but aside from that these systems are independent of each other and only one is running at a time. Most likely there is no noticable difference, even accounting that minor HDD read/write difference.

On SSD performance shouldn't be affected at all.

Great, thanks for letting me know about that. Mint is great so far but right now I will keep Windows around too. If I can learn Linux really well I might just abandon Windows for good.
