Is Avert antivirus still in development?

i just heard about it and it sounded interesting as a demand scanner (has 10 engines in it). but it's hard to find any information about it. i downloaded it as a portable (version 2.2 was highest i could find). their website just gives a picture with nothing else (http://www.avertsoftware.com)??? it has several scan engines in it, and seems to need entire signatures updated with each use (?).
