is a way to force websites to use 2fa ? such as online banking etc or use an authenticator. currently my bank sends a code to my phone when needed, but from what i have read SMS sent to a mobile arent very secure and its a hassle to always have my mobile charged and turned on ready

I don't think so. And you need an mobile for an authenticator anyway unless website supports hardware security keys which are more rarely supported.

if sms sent to your phone is your only option, look at changing banks!

Money talks. Make a complaint stating that SMS cost them money, mobile authentication is free, they just have to pay devs to implement it into a mobile app.

I am lucky to have a bank using U2F (physical keys) for my accounts.
