    Hi Jerry,
As always I install on top of the previous version and never had any problems with it. :)

It also remembers your previous settings, so I'm not sure it would be the same when uninstalling. :doubt:

    Hi hadi,
It's totally free for home users and non-profit organisations. :)
However commercial organisations have to register = pay.
If you want to support Irfanview, you can always register, but there's no need to do it. :D

I used this software on my main PC although recently I have been using the re-size in my full programs. I have just downloaded it for my notebook - only noticed but the viewer itself is a smaller download than the plug-ins! Are the default plugins enough or are the extra ones best to install also?

I will certainly make more use of it on the notebook - just query what the extra plugins are o_O

Thanks, Eldar. I was hoping that was the case. I have used it for years, although not extensively. It is an excellent program.

I always register or send a donation to help support a product I like.

If the default is all you need, don't install unnecessary plugins.
Take a look here and select plugins on your left to know more about them. :)
    My pleasure Jerry. ;)
I certainly wouldn't want to lose all my settings. And yes, it's a really great program.
Like you I also register or support products I like, as with Irfan. There's no obligation to do it though. It's entirely up to you, if you want to support it. ;)

Thank you Eldar, much better to know what they are and do before I install. I went straight to the download yesterday and totally forgot about the actual site for the details  I had a stressful day yesterday :(
