I just downloaded and installed the Thunderbird email client yesterday, and I have noticed something interesting. After receiving an email in Thunderbird, it must still be downloaded into the viewing area of the program (Only the header is downloaded. A second action is necessary to download the rest of the message). IMON does not scan it until it has been completely downloaded. This is a great secondary protection against virus infection. I suppose the same is true of OE if it is set not to preview the message? Anyway, I thought I would pass the information along for whatever it is worth. :p
