Intel says its US mega-fab will be a $120 billion "little city" "I want to build factories a lot faster than we can today," said CEO Pat Gelsinger August 9, 2021 https://www.techspot.com/news/90709-intel-us-mega-fab-120-billion-little-city.html
I heard in the news the other day, some towns in California are now having to have water delivered via train and trucks. The drought is not expected to ease anytime soon. So, it's possible, even likely, that Intel will build its fab much farther east. Let's see. I think it's kind of good news from the hardware viewpoint. This chip shortage has gotten old.
I'd like to send them some rain from the great lakes area. This is the wettest summer we have had in a long time. Maybe they could go farther west and build it underwater just off the coast. Maybe if companies like Intel weren't slacking we'd have underwater cities and flying cars and bases on the moon...
