    Hearing the name "McAfee" rings more marketing-expertise bells than security ones imho.

    I assume I am not alone in NOT wanting McAfee technology embedded in my hardware... o_O

  5. Whatever it is, I hope it never comes to fruition, because

    a) I'd trust McAfee AV to protect my computer from malware about as much as I'd trust a deaf Pomeranian to protect my house from vandals.

    b) The whole concept of the on-access AV should have died a long time ago.

    No quarms with McAfee (their support has been top notch for their corperate products we use), but not sure on embedded software of anykind is a good idea for anything other than appliances.

    Bios, disable vpro, problem solved.
