    mack_guy, you beat me to it man. :D

    Alternatively from :

    $ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:videolan/stable-daily
    $ sudo apt-get update
    $ sudo apt-get install vlc

    If you have sound problems:

    rm -r ~/.config/vlc
    rm -r ~/.local/share/vlc

    PS. No good (yet) on SL6.2 (and by implication CentOS 6.2 and brothers) due to old libxcb
    version. :mad:

    Good to see VLC has finally put up a PPA, with this and MOTU PPA, the media player upgrade issue is all set on Ubuntu.
