The intention of this thread is to give a quick overview for NOD32 version 2 of:
    1. installed components
    2. other scanner support parts

By doing this, users can easily compare their versions and see whether they have the latest versions.

I would suggest to update the information if there has been a new version published of one or more of those components/parts.

I think that there is no need to update it if there has been a new virus-definition-database published.

Maybe it would be a good idea to start a new thread in case you have different components and/or parts and have a question about it.
In this way we can keep this thread "clean".

That's becouse the latest version on our website is newer and has some bugs fixed. We plan to release a new beta soon and, after it's been tested widely for some time, we'll issue a new program component update for all users who use NOD32 2.0.

    Hmm...

I downloaded the trial version on 30 June 2004 so I could give NOD32 a try before buying. Here's my version info:

I hope that the version I'm using to make up my mind about the program is one that will give me the best impression. I would think that the best impression would come from the newest version...not beta, of course. Am I trying the right thing?

My update settings are "automatic" for virus databases and "offer" for program components, with update checks performed every hour as per the defaults (I have DSL). My event log shows only virus database updates since installation. I'm sure that no program components have been offered and refused.

Anything else? I think I downloaded the installation program from the server in Australia, if that makes any difference, but I might be wrong on that because I was doing a lot of reading on different sites that day.

    Thanks,
    pollux

    Pollux,
there had been a newer trial version put on our website on June 2. I recommend you download it and reinstall NOD32. The only difference you'll notice is that the trial version does not support incremental update, ie. each update will be about 1,6 MB in size.

Before I start downloading, uninstalling, and reinstalling, the new version is from July 2 and not June 2, right? Just making sure. Because I downloaded and installed the trial version on June 30.

(The size of downloads is not an issue for me with my new DSL).

Thanks, especially for responding on Saturday.

So, I'm answering my own post.

Today I had time to check out the new trial version. On the NOD32 site, I found the file size for the installer was larger than that of the installer I downloaded on 30 June (no dates on the site). I reinstalled NOD32 with this larger installer, and here are the new version numbers for the components, with updates as compared to the June 30 version marked in bold:

It is interesting that IMON did not appear at all in my other component list (i.e., the one in my original post to this thread), which I did not edit other than to add the bold. At any rate, IMON was intercepting infected mail before, even though it wasn't in the componenets list.

Thanks for the heads-up about the updated trial version, which I'm glad to be able to test before buying. Happy Independence Day to the Americans!
