infection with download avg antispyware?...please help.

    hi ..this may not be anything but please help me on this ,i downloaded avg antispyware and every time i run this program it would freeze and would not update.so i removed it and ran a registry cleaner to make sure i get all the program left and went back avg and downloaded it again and the same thing,this is been going on for days...and i would repeat the it again..because i did have ewido paid and have been trying to upgrade and then i ran the downloaded file to jotti virus scan and it reported it had a possible variant zolob installed my system is clean and i would delete the file never running it on my machine after jotti alerted on the file please can anybody else verify this ?i have done these same steps on bothof my computers this might be something you all should know about...or is this a false positive?....please help.

    What site are you downloading AVG Antispyware from?

    both ewido and avg...at different times.

    It's always best to get a download from the developer's website.
    I'm still not sure where you got your download from,but here is the link for AVG Antispyware.Click "Try" at the right side of the grey box with the prices and stuff.

    NOD32 Found nothing
    Norman Virus Control Found nothing
    VirusBuster Found nothing
    VBA32 Found Downloader.Zlob.24 (paranoid heuristics) (probable variant)
    this is the same results if it means anything? this is from the site you just told me to download from...is this safe?..

    Yes.It should be safe.
    Vba32 flags it with paranoid heuristics.That's likely a false positive.

    lol robert allways download AVG products from www.grisoft.com anything else may be fake and dangerous.
